Atlanta PD dismisses rape allegations against former med student

State of Georgia v. L.P.

Our client was a well-respected Emory graduate and former med student who was unfortunately accused of rape by a woman he met at a club in Midtown Atlanta.

The case was investigated by the Atlanta Police Department’s sex crimes unit. Although the woman presented herself to the police with significant bruising, we were able to prove to the police that our client had consensual sexual intercourse with her. Our client maintained that the woman repeatedly told him that she “liked it rough” and encouraged him to engage in rough sex–including choking her at times. We were able to direct the police to video surveillance footage from our client’s condominium which showed the two entering and leaving the client’s residence. The video showed the two walking arm-in-arm up to the residence as well as down from the residence after the sexual intercourse. Leaving the residence, the woman could be seen pulling our client towards her and resting her head on his shoulder. This evidence convinced the police to dismiss the case and we were able to keep our client from ever getting arrested.
